Aside

magnified remnants.

They say hell is a place

But they never tell you it’s a feeling too

They tell you not to worry about what tomorrow holds

But they don’t warn you about how many worries tomorrow holds

If we’re living in a mystery, what is everyone so afraid of

If nobody makes it out alive why do we forget to live along the way

There’s so many voices that claim to know your everything, but I just want to tell them they don’t know anything

Before you were here, I had me

There’s things I said I’d never do but I did them all

Somehow it’s still okay and we’re all still breathing

You said no but I heard yes

And what sticks out to me the most is how the things we didn’t say were always the loudest regrets I’ve ever had

tactics.

Who could find the time in the world to tell all the dreamers to quiet their souls

I’ve seen many suffocate the wounded with excessive demands

In this world hierarchy takes precedence over humanity

Humanity is forgotten although it is what we all share

Birds are shot dead right when they learn how to fly, their songs muffled into a murky abyss

The hopeful destined to disappointment in their search for bliss

Look no further, instead look inside

Every rose has it’s thorn but not every thorn has a rose, they have to share

Paint me a picture of all golden flowers and I will you show you the one that doesn’t belong

We accept the love we think we deserve but that’s if we even think that we deserve it at all

Rose thorn.

I fell asleep on the bathroom floor listening to Bob Marley because it was easier than seeing you cry
You believed in me and that was enough until it wasn’t
Peril is a myth that always finds you when you’re most comfortable
Everything you tried to swallow comes back up like vomit
The words nobody could find lie all over the floor like misplaced socks
I know not how to return to you the favors you graced me with
We’re all royal until we tip over
When you give them the chance to see you miss they’ll play it on repeat
But the butterflies know your name and they’ll sing it back to you when you forget
